Experience the Christmas classic as you’ve never heard it before with Jarrod Radnich’s Virtuosic Piano Solo™ arrangement of “Ukrainian Bell Carol (Carol of the Bells).” Presented with sweeping cinematic intensity, this extraordinary arrangement reaches far beyond the familiar Westernized versions of the carol, drawing upon Radnich’s extensive research into the ancient rhythmic character and cultural origins of the music. Long before it became a Christmas standard, the melody grew from a Ukrainian chant steeped in folklore and mystery—its insistent rhythms and repeating four-note ostinato believed to carry symbolic, even magical, significance.

Radnich restores the fascinating rhythmic interplay largely lost in later Anglicized arrangements, including the distinctive hemiola effect created by shifting accents between 3/4 and 6/8. Combined with the hypnotic four-note motif confined within the span of a minor third, these rediscovered elements give the music an elemental, almost ritualistic energy. The result is a breathtaking Virtuosic Piano Solo™ that sounds at once ancient and strikingly modern—mysterious, explosive, and cinematic, revealing an entirely new dimension of one of the world’s most recognizable holiday melodies.
