About Joshua Tree Cultural Center
Jarrod Radnich is the President and Chairman of the Board of the Joshua Tree Cultural Center, the regional arts organization for the arts mecca of Joshua Tree, CA. Radnich also serves as its resident Artistic Director and Maestro of the Joshua Tree Philharmonic.
With its multi-venue performing and visual arts centers located in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, California, the Joshua Tree Cultural Center (JTCC) is a 70+ year non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation that serves as the regional performing and visual arts organization and arts agency for the communities of Joshua Tree National Park.
The Cultural Center owns and operates its own performance venues and facilities and produces award-winning community and professional live theater, concerts, art exhibits and galleries, festivals, the Joshua Tree Philharmonic symphony orchestra, an extensive educational arts and technology academy program for youth and adults, and more. The Cultural Center is the largest and oldest non-profit arts organization in the region and is recognized as an organization of artistic excellence by the National Endowment for the Arts. It instructs over 700 adults and youth weekly and operates a significant financial aid and scholarship program so that no children are turned away from programs due to their socioeconomic situation.
Unlike in most other theatrical venues, the theatrical performances at the Center’s three performance venues—the Blak Box Theater, the Yucca Valley Visual & Performing Arts Center, and its grand main theater, the Joshua Tree Performing Arts Center—are often accompanied by original scores and sound arranged, composed, and produced by Radnich with Mastermind Studios. With 7.1 Surround Sound in the Blak Box Theater, the scores are written to take advantage of each venue’s particular acoustics and are further adapted to fit a show’s time and performers’ needs.
JOSHUA TREE PHILHARMONIC
As maestro for the acclaimed Joshua Tree Philharmonic (JPHIL), Jarrod Radnich creates, composes for, and conducts this pioneering inter-generational orchestra that brings together over 60 musicians from the Southern California region. The philharmonic has featured prominent musicians from Alexis Gershwin to George Michael’s Deon Estus, and Radnich’s original compositions and arrangements are intricately created so that each member of the orchestra, regardless of skill level or instrument, can participate in and contribute to the full-scale orchestral movements. With repertoire covering jazz, classical, pop, world, and more, the JPHIL has experienced extraordinary success and growth using Radnich’s innovative approach to orchestration.
